About Intercultural Development
There is a myth in diversity, equity and inclusion work that people either “get it” or they don’t. Intercultural development acknowledges that we learn to bridge cultural differences and commonalities in a series of predictable developmental mindsets. Each developmental mindset calls on us to build specific knowledge and skills to become more effective in meeting our goals.

Listen to Lead uses the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) to assess intercultural competence—the capability to shift cultural perspective and adapt behavior to cultural differences and commonalities. This 50-item online inventory is simple to complete and is considered the international “gold standard” in measuring intercultural competence and development.

The IDI tells us where to start with the project; your goals tell us where to go. Using the information from your individual, team and/or organizational IDI profile, Listen to Lead customizes training, coaching and facilitation to engage you in developmentally appropriate skill building that helps you reach your equity and justice goals.
